Booking & Payment
By booking a service with The Japan Edition, you agree to the following terms:

Payments are processed via wire bank transfer or secure third-party platforms like Stripe. We do not retain any payment information.

Our cancellation policy is as follows: a full refund is available if cancellation occurs at least one week before departure, a 50% refund is available for cancellations made between one week and 48 hours before departure, and no refund will be provided for cancellations made less than 48 hours before departure or in the case of no-shows. Some activities, such as Maiko fees and others, may not be refundable once reserved. Any such exceptions will be communicated to you prior to booking. Refunds will be processed after deducting any applicable credit card or currency exchange fees.
Restrictions & Eligibility
Certain activities may have age, health, or behavioral restrictions, which will be specified in advance when you inquire about or book a tour. Additionally, third-party providers may deny access to anyone who, in their judgment, poses a risk to the safety or enjoyment of others, including individuals who appear intoxicated or disruptive, or if a guest’s behavior is deemed inappropriate or unsafe.
Third-Party Providers
The Japan Edition works with third-party providers, such as tour guides, restaurants, and hotels, to offer a seamless experience. While we make every effort to ensure the quality of these services, we are not responsible for the actions of these providers. If any incidents or accidents occur, the responsibility lies with the third-party provider, and we will assist in resolving the issue wherever possible.
Liability & Disclaimer
By booking a tour or service with The Japan Edition, you acknowledge that certain activities, particularly those involving travel or outdoor adventures, may carry inherent risks. We strongly recommend that you have appropriate travel insurance for your trip. We are not responsible for injuries, accidents, or losses incurred during your trip, except in cases where we are found negligent.
Dietary Restrictions
For food tours or any activity involving food and drinks, we are not responsible for any food allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities. It is the guest’s responsibility to inform us of any dietary restrictions prior to booking and to directly notify the restaurants or third-party providers involved, even if we have already shared this information with them. We do not take any responsibility for any allergic reactions or health issues arising from food or drink consumed during the tour.
Changes & Cancellations
We reserve the right to make changes to itineraries, tours, or services due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather conditions, government regulations, etc.). If any significant changes occur, we will notify you promptly and offer alternative options or refunds where applicable.
Acceptance of Terms
By booking or using our services, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please refrain from using our services. In case of any dispute, the laws of Japan will apply, and any legal proceedings will be conducted in accordance with Japanese jurisdiction.
